Lawsuit takes on Canadian 911 wireless fees


An Ontario woman is trying to obtain class action status on a lawsuit against Rogers Wireless, alleging that the cell phone provider is pocketing more than its due in 911 service fees. Patricia Robson’s suit alleges no more than 10 cents of the monthly 50-cent fees usually charged to subscribers is actually required by regulators to pay for the necessary telecommunications infrastructure.
