Skype Hyping Mobility in '08

Leo Blanco on the Mobile Technology Weblog points out that Skype is hyping some of the more “mobile” aspects of it's service in 2008. Specifically, their availability on phones from mobile operator 3 out of the UK, the Sony Playstation Portable, the Nokia N810, and others.

The article fails to mention Fring, which is a software solution that enables Skype usage, and it's operator agnostic. It is specific to certain high-end handsets, but it also enables “Skype mobility.” It does make me wonder, though, whether Skype itself is going to play more aggressively in the handset space-outside of their partnership with 3, of course.
