CUB, Citizens Utility Board, Illinois is reporting that AT&T is hiking Plain Old Telephone rates by as much as 63%. AT&T is saying the hikes are necessary to spread costs among fewer land line customers. According to statement by AT&T spokeswoman, more than a quarter of households are wireless only.
